Course Description:

 

This course is a performing ensemble open to students who read music and successfully audition with the director to join. The ensemble not only performs on school concerts, but also for civic, cultural, and religious associations and conventions, as well as for District and State Solo and Ensemble Festivals.

Course Content:

 

Students will learn a variety of music, both sacred and secular. Any student who joins this ensemble is required to perform at all school concerts and accepted outside engagements, barring an emergency situation.

Goals and Objectives:

 

Students will have numerous performance opportunities, and they will learn the value of self-discipline, dedication and integrity to promote professionalism. Those who are successful will also improve their reading skills and overall musicianship.

General Class Requirements:

 

Deadlines are established by which students are to have memorized and passed songs with their sectional leaders or the director. Sectional leaders are required to pass songs with the director. All music is provided by the director.
